025. o by the by

o by the by
has anybody seen
little you-i
who stood on a green
hill and threw
his wish at blue

with a swoop and a dart
out flew his wish
(it dived like a fish
but it climbed like a dream)
throbbing like a heart
singing like a flame

blue took it my
far beyond far
and high beyond high
bluer took it your
but bluest took it our
away beyond where

what a wonderful thing
is the end of a string
(murmurs little you-i
as the hill becomes nil)
and will somebody tell
me why people let go

- e.e. cummings

oh, by the by, i do have quite a number of thoughts to write down, but seeing as it is 3:00 in the AM and i am too tired and unsure to express and explain said thoughts, they will have to wait at a later time to be discussed.

ah, yes, i do think too much sometimes.

024. offroad.

this ride is slowly drifting to the side, we're swerving off the road...

023. songs & nostalgia.

i hung out with morgan tonight. she picked me up at 6 and we went to lakewood mall and shopped until it closed... at 7. i bought a few new dresses. :) oh dear, there goes the $$$. afterward, we went to mimi's cafe for dinner. their "petite" salads are not quite petite; in fact, they're rather regular sized, if i may say so myself. actually, morgan agrees with me. we were both in awe when we received what were supposed to be our "petite" salads. it was nice to spend time with her and update each other on what's going on in our lives. we never cease to have good conversations every time we hang out, so i enjoy that a lot. :) good, mature, eye-opening, challenges-of-growing-up, school/family/relationships types of conversations. we wrapped up around 9 and she came over for a bit, said hi to my parents, and played guitar - she played me some of the music she wrote. good times. i think i'm going to try to go to ucla sometime this week to visit her. who wants to join me for the ride? :] aww, morgan and i, we go way back - 14 years!!! i love you, best friend. :)

after morgan time, i watched night at the museum with my parents. all this week, i've pretty much just enjoyed staying at home, reading or renting movies to watch with the parental units after dinner. i like family time. :)

ah yes, and i attempted to write lyrics to one of morgan's songs, except her music ended up being too fast for my lyrics and i ended up making my own melody up, consisting of the G and CMajor7+5 chords on the guitar: pretty much some of the only chords i know?! hah hah hah. it's not too bad, i suppose. i always think my lyrics are cheesy though. :/ ah, well. hurray to me writing a song? i just need someone to arrange it musically on the guitar; yeah, my "knowledge" of chords won't cut it -- i'm still learning! i've always just played by tabs. shush.

our kitchen is pretty much done being remodeled. it looks nice.

went to church at st. pancratius in the morning. i enjoyed the choir a lot, as always. full band - drums, guitar, bass, etc. so fun. and they played some of my favorite church songs too! "you are mine," "now is the time," "sing of the Lord's goodness." going to church at st. pancratius is always nostalgic for me because i always see familiar faces of people i used to know or know of from elementary or high school - mostly people who attended st. joseph high school or st. john bosco high school. it's kind of weird, when i think about it... i mean, i'm gone for most of the year so when i come back home and go to church on sundays, it feels odd to see those people and think about how they're pretty much still here, hanging out with the same people from high school and such, going to the same places, doing the same things, and, pretty much, life goes on in lakewood while i'm away. sometimes i begin to wonder how it would have been if i hadn't gone away to college, if i had just gone some place nearby and pretty much stayed home. ah, thoughts. *shrug*

022. well, you and me, we could change the world...

lately you've been contemplating.
is this real or is this fading?
what brought you here in the first place?

i want to call you, talk about things, see how you are, what you've been up to these past few days (online doesn't cut it; our online conversations lately have been empty and brief. :/). i want to call you and have (a) conversation(s). i always thought our conversations were interesting. you always had interesting questions to ask. you always seemed interested in what i had to say, and i always enjoyed hearing what you had to say - about anything.

i want to call you.
but i'm not quite sure if you'd want me to call you.
therefore, that is why i haven't called you.

i mean, if you wanted to talk to me,
you could always call me too, right?

te extraño.

021. bridget jones's diary.

i finished reading bridget jones's diary. eh. it was a quick, light, easy read, so that was good, but it didn't make any impressions or whatnot. and it's quite a rare occasion that i'd say the movie was better than the book. also, the movie was quite different from the book, omitting many, many scenes - but that is always expected when a book hits the big screen.

oh, what is there to expect from a chick book? haha. time to move onto better reads. perhaps on the road by jack keruouac? or i capture the castle by dodie smith? although maybe not the latter; i think bridget jones was enough british for me for a bit. it was all british lingo, and, seriously, as i type this, i am saying all this in my head in a british accent! how odd.

i'm in the mood to rent (a) movie(s), but what, i do not know. the other day i rented bridget jones: the edge of reason. hahahaha. just figured i might as well watch the sequel. i didn't quite fancy that as much as i did the first movie though, but it was still cute. gosh, i'm such a sucker for sappy chick flicks. oh dear. oh yes! i also watched the new pirates movie, pirates of the caribbean: at world's end, last night with aimmee, her godbrother & godsister, dan, and kelly. that was pretty good, i suppose. i think the pirates movies don't have the same effect on me as the first one did. ehhhh. i thought the first one was amazing when i first saw it, and i willingly watched it again at the theater. lol. i saw ray working at the theater last night! so that was nice; hadn't seen him in a long time. we chatted it up a bit before the movie. hmmm. i still have jackie's/alex's dvd, thumbsucker, which i've been meaning to watch. perhaps i will watch that.

we are getting our kitchen remodeled entirely at the moment, so there are a bunch of big chinese guys in our kitchen (or what's left of it, at least. haha), hammering away at the countertops (actually, i don't think there are any more countertops left right now) and doing whatever is done when one remodels a kitchen.

tonight is dorothy's birthday dinner (it is, afterall, her birthday today). i think it'll be at guppy teahouse (in cerritos!). that girl has become obsessed with that place, i suppose. haha. that should be fun. :)
